LAYLIAN THE ALIEN

About the Project

Laylian is a small blue alien who works as a space reporter. She finds her work quite meaningful, even though she has a perpetual frown on her face.

Laylian and her friends come from the doodled margins of my high school and college notebook pages. Shortly after graduating from college, I began teaching myself how create hand-drawn 2D animation so I could tell their stories.

I draw everything digitally on the iPad in a program called Procreate and then stitch everything together using accompanying animation software called Procreate Dreams. The project is currently in its fourth year of production.

It will likely be a total of 30 minutes in length when completed.
